Every day this month, I've tried to reflect on the things for which I am thankful, especially given the events of that particular day. Instead of sharing it on Facebook, I wanted to blog it since I'm a pretty wordy girl.
Tuesday, November 1: People often say that in times of crisis, you find out who your friends are. If that's true, then we keep finding out over and over again how blessed we are to have amazing friends and family. I'm thankful for our church family who were willing to step in and help when we brought Andrew to the ER on Monday.
Wednesday, November 2: I'm thankful for a husband who loves me enough to not only appreciate the things I do for our family, but to actually express it. This time, it was in the form of one dozen pink roses to say "Thank you for caring for me and the kids when we were sick this weekend." I love that man.
Thursday, November 3: I'm grateful for a pediatrician and surgeon who worked hard to get to the bottom of Andrew's health issues and funny x-rays. They went above and beyond to provide good care for us. And I'm grateful for the gold star treatment the pediatrician's nurse gives us to try to prevent my sick son from being further exposed to more germs in the waiting room.
Friday, November 4: I'm thankful for a friend for telling me "This devotional is amazing! You must read it." And then she gave a copy of it to me. I'm not good at reading it every day, but each time I do, God's word strengthens and encourages me to make changes in my life to better honor Him. God uses this little devotional book to remind me to cast my cares on Him, knowing that He cares for me, and to trust Him every hour of the day.
Saturday, November 5: I appreciate my sweet family and their desire to let me sleep in today!
Sunday, November 6, on the occasion of Andrew's baby dedication: I'm thankful that the Lord chose to spare my son's life, and that we will be able to use that to lead Andrew to know his Savior one day. And I'm thankful for a body of believers who are like family to us and support us in our desire to grow our children to know Christ.
Monday, November 7: I'm thankful for moms. Specifically, I love how they come to visit, cook lots of food, and leave awesome leftovers in their wake. Fajitas anyone?
For what things are you thankful today?
