Caution: Mom in Progress

I sure hope you know that I'm very much a work in progress. I don't have it together, I make mistakes, and half the time, I feel like I'm just barely keeping my head above water when it comes to parenting and keeping up with the housework.

You definitely wouldn't have mistaken me for the perfect mom if you saw my two year old on stage at church last Sunday. She was the one who wanted to run and play during her brother's baby dedication. She didn't want to hold my hand, and when my husband grabbed her hand as well, she picked her feet up off the ground and said "weeee!" I think she talked during the entire prayer. Obedience was not happening, and she did this in front of the entire church. Nice one, Izzy.

But just in case you ever do have the audacity to think that I've got it together even half the time, let me introduce you to Mt. Washmore.

It has a cousin hanging around here too.

And another relative in the dryer.

This is about five loads of laundry. I have no idea how I managed to get this far behind. And these aren't the only areas I've neglected.

I'd much rather cuddle up with a good book, take a nap, waste time on Facebook, or write a clever blog post about the gourmet meal I didn't cook last night, but if I want a place to go to bed tonight, I'd better get started.

I wouldn't want the bosses to cut my pay.

  1. You aren't the only one! I manage to wash the laundry, but have piles of clothes folded to put away (I hate that part). Plus I have drawers full of papers that I need to go through and throw away (but they are all hidden so I don't have to face them). You are a great mom and I don't think your bosses care ;) xo
