...in a sea of little girls clothes!
I started worrying that maybe I really do need to go shopping for my daughter. A big consignment sale is going on in town right now, so if she's in need of any outfits, now would be a good time to buy.
So today, I checked my stash of hand-me-downs in the attic. Oh no! I could only find one box, and it was halfway empty! Then I found another small box. Well this looks promising, I thought.
Then I spotted a huge rubbermaid tub of 3T clothes and two garbage bags that were sent up by my sister-in- law (who pretty much rocks, by the way).
And that's how I ended up drowning in clothes.
Pictured, left from right, you can see a chubby little Andrew leg, a pile of winter clothes, casual clothes, casual dresses, church dresses, and pajamas. My rule is if I don't love it, I toss it.
This is just the stuff I love.
It's a combination of clothes from my nieces and my friends' children. The brands are Gap, Izod, Laura Ashley, Gymboree, and any variety of boutique-y brand clothes you can imagine. My favorite is the black and white toile-ish print with pink trim. Izzy is definitely wearing that to my cousin's wedding this fall.
Am I bummed that I don't get to go shopping for my daughter? Not a bit. She'll be her usual adorably dressed self and I won't have to spend a dime. Instead of dropping a hundred bucks or so on her clothing, we can continue remodeling projects on the house, buy clothes for mommy, save the money, or (more likely)put the money towards paying off her little brother's lung surgery.
Thank you, Lord, for providing beautiful hand-me-down clothing for my daughter. You know my vain little mama's heart loves to see her dressed nicely, and you consistently provide more than what we need.
Now let's go up in the attic and see what He has provided for our six month old son.
Glad to see you found some, otherwise, I was going to mail you a box of clothes! haha! Let me know if you need bigger sizes. I would offer to send shoes, but Autumn has been playing hard in them and they belong in the garbage after she is done. When she stops being so rough on them or if they aren't bad, I can send them your way if you like.
ReplyDeleteThanks! From what I can tell, we don't have much in size 4 or bigger, so we'd appreciate anything. It's funny that you commented on this on Monday because Isabelle just happened to be wearing Autumn's cute pink rain coat that day!
