Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon has a strong, purifying, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. Lemon consists of 68 percent dlimonene, a powerful antioxidant. It is delightfully refreshing in water and may be beneficial for the skin. Lemon may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. Lemon essential oil is cold-pressed from the rinds of lemons.
Lemon has antiseptic properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function. According Jean Valnet, M.D., the vaporized essence of lemon can kill meningococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli in one hour, Staphylococcus aureus in two hours, and Pneumococcus bacteria within three hours. Even a 0.2% solution of lemon oil can kill diphtheria bacteria in 20 minutes and inactivate tuberculosis bacteria.
You can learn more about essential oils and purchase them from Whitney's Young Living Essential Oils page.

DeleteI'm familiar with them. I like pre-made blends. They help keep costs down. I haven't tried lemon yet but I bet it would be awesome for my homemade cleaning supplies.
ReplyDeleteLove love love lemon essential oil. I had a bottle that I was needing to get the sticky stuff off from a sticker.... lemon oil is WONDERFUL for that. It's also great for getting spray paint off of your hands. I also like to diffuse it, mixed with peppermint... makes the house smell sooo good. I know there are a zillion other (health) benefits for it as well but those are just a few that I've used it for in the last 24 hours. It's a regular go to around here.
ReplyDeleteI've actually never tried lemon essential oil. I'd be excited to win and try it out! Thanks!!!
