Andrew and the Avocado: Introducing Solids

This is Mr. Andrew.

Mr. Andrew, meet Mr. Avocado.

Mr. Andrew, this, sir, will be your first taste of real food.  We begin tonight, at dinner.

At 6 months (and five days, but who's counting?) Andrew is all about nursing and has never had cereal or anything else to eat.

If he's anything like his sister, he won't like avocado until he's much older and can enjoy it in its best form, guacamole.

But he's nothing like his sister.

For all the pomp and circumstance surrounding baby's first meal, I'm honestly not expecting much.  Isabelle turned her nose up at baby cereal, spitting it out and scrunching up her nose.  After she got used to cereal, I tried yellow squash from our garden, but she wouldn't go for it.  Avocado just turned her into one big green mess.  We eventually hit the jackpot with butternut squash.  But perhaps we'll have more luck with Andrew tonight.

I'll let you know how it goes.
