As I write my posts for this Disney Series, I'm able to write about all the little details from our trip back in January, 6 months ago. I can tell you how my two year old responded to seeing Donald Duck across a restaurant, what my 4 year old said to Cinderella, and I can tell you all about their favorite rides. And it's not just because of the pictures, though they definitely help.
The first thing we did at Disney was meet Micky Mouse. As my kids met him, I was so overwhelmed with the moment that I put the camera down. I realized how important it was to experience the fun and enjoy the moments with my children instead of being focused on documenting every single one of them. And those memories are sweet, but it's 6 months later and they're fading fast.
So how can I remember the sweet & funny moments?
These books.
I picked them up in a moment of inspiration. I wanted a journal for each of my children. At the end of each day of our trip, I would jot down memories of their first plane rides and their first time at each of the Disney Parks.
As it happened, I came across these retro Mickey journals while shopping for snacks and items for our trip. I let my older kids pick which one they wanted and I put their names at the top.
Now that we're home, I can use these journals to write down the funny & clever things the kids say so that we don't forget them.
Between these journals, our Pinterest-inspired autographed photo mat, and the photo book we're putting together, we'll have great records of all of our sweet memories.
